Scene 1: The first scene

by on Jun.24, 2012, under Uncategorized

Still of Reporter India Gallos (Kristen Bellamarie) interviewing Lieutenant Willets (Warren Bub) and Detective Tomsun (Roman Limonta) in a scene from No One Lives Forever. Shot and completed filming the first scene. The weather was great and the natural sunlight was perfect. Not a complicated scene on screen but had its own challenges when filming. Passers-bye intentionally talking loud or walking into the frame was a constant annoyance.

Scene 8: Preparing to film car scene

by on Jun.24, 2012, under Uncategorized

Kristin Bellamarie with the clapper while Roman Limonta and Warren Bub rehearse in car. This was the second spot we tried to shoot but the street noise was not working so we moved the car to another location. Shot count for today: 105 takes.

Scene 8: In Car

by on Jun.24, 2012, under Uncategorized

Still of Detective Tomsun (Roman Limonta) and Lieutenant Willets (Warren Bub) in a scene from No One Lives Forever. This was supposedly a simple scene to do but the lighting initially was wrong so we had to move the car a couple of times. The the noise from passing cars was distracting so we moved the car again. We found a spot that addressed the lighting and street traffic noise but a truck parked several feet behind had a very loud motor running. The truck eventually left and we did several takes to make up for the bad ones.

Scene 12: A Break In Filming Interview Scene

by on Jun.24, 2012, under Uncategorized

Roman Limonta, Warren Bub and Kristen Bellamarie pose during a break in filming an interview scene. The second they pose for this and Roman shows the clapper, a guy appears out of nowhere, stands directly next to me and takes a photo of them, then casually walks away. It’s nice someone finds the production interesting enough to take a photo but it’s kind of rude to do so without asking and uncomfortable that someone would get into my “safe zone” like that.

Scene 7: Petra Confronts Thana Terc [continued]

by on Jun.20, 2012, under Uncategorized

Still of Stephanie Alvarez (Thana Terc) and Anna Landreth (Petra) in a scene from No One Lives Forever. We shot closeups that were missed last time, did the fight sequence and the end of the scene. Was pressed for time but at least all the shots were filmed so I can review them and see what the results are. Shot count for today: 162 takes.

Still of Anna Landreth (Petra) and Stephanie Alvarez (Thana Terc) in a scene from No One Lives Forever. Filming only the scene when Thana Terc meets Petra at her “dance studio” today. Got lots of wide and closeup shots but didn’t get to finish. Will continue next time. Shot count for today: 105 takes.

AWARD OF MERIT [The Accolade Competition]

by on Jun.08, 2012, under Uncategorized

The 9-minute excerpt from the No One Lives Forever feature has won an AWARD OF MERIT from The Accolade Competition. Many thanks go out to Rebekah Tadros (The Premiere), Patrick Shane (The Regent) and Alexandra Hoffman Beechko (The Obsidian) for their performances. It’s always a relief to get that first award. Even if no more materializes afterwards, at least something was achieved for the hard work.

Film Review [The Independent Critic]

by on Jun.07, 2012, under Uncategorized

The 9-minute excerpt submitted as a short film to film festivals has gotten a positive review by The Independent Critic. The excerpt was never intended to be a standalone film, but it is a relief that the critic had some nice things to say about it. Hopefully, the feature will get at least the same level of recognition.
